SoloSafe ("we," "us," or "our") operates the SoloSafe mobile application, website, and related safety notification services.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, including account details, phone number, email address, emergency contacts, timer settings, activity notes, and check-in status. For Free users, location data is collected at timer start. For Pro users, SoloSafe may refresh the user's GPS location about once per hour while an active timer is running and the device has coverage, so emergency alerts can include a more recent last known location when available.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide the SoloSafe service, operate timers, send account and safety notifications, send emergency contact invitations, attempt delivery of missed check-in alerts, process subscriptions, troubleshoot service issues, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with legal, carrier, messaging, and security requirements.
SMS Consent and Emergency Contact Alerts
SoloSafe sends transactional safety and account messages only. Registered SoloSafe users may opt in to SMS notifications during account setup. If a user adds an emergency contact, SoloSafe sends that contact an SMS invitation explaining that they may receive safety alerts if the user misses a check-in or triggers an emergency alert. The emergency contact must reply YES before SoloSafe sends future safety alerts by SMS. Recipients can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our SMS Consent page for details.
Alert Content and Location Data
When a timer expires and the user has not checked in, SoloSafe attempts to send emergency contacts messages containing information such as the user's name, activity type, alert status, alert time, and last known GPS location when available. Free alerts may include the timer start location. Pro alerts may include a more recent last known location if hourly refreshes were available during an active timer.
No Guaranteed Delivery
SoloSafe is a safety notification tool, not an emergency service or monitoring service. Alert delivery, location updates, SMS, emails, check-in reminders, and emergency contact notifications are not guaranteed. Delivery may fail or be delayed because of poor cellular coverage, internet outages, device battery failure, disabled permissions, inaccurate GPS/location services, phone operating system restrictions, carrier filtering, incorrect contact information, emergency contact unavailability, or third-party service outages. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or local emergency services directly.
Log Data
We may receive message delivery information, error logs, device information, and automation logs when alerts are created, sent, delayed, or fail to deliver. We use this information for troubleshooting, security, compliance, and service improvement.
Cookies
We do not use cookies for advertising. Our website, app platform, hosting providers, or payment providers may use cookies, session tokens, or similar technologies for authentication, security, payments, analytics, and basic service functionality.
Service Providers
We use third-party companies to operate SoloSafe, including:
- Twilio for SMS and messaging delivery
- Make.com for automation and alert dispatching
- Google services for hosting, data storage, or operational workflows
- PayPal or other payment providers for payment processing
- Email providers for email delivery
These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for us, comply with law, prevent abuse, process payments, deliver messages, or maintain security. They may have their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, uptime limitations, and data handling requirements.
SMS Messaging Disclosure
SoloSafe does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes. Message frequency varies based on account activity, timer activity, check-ins, emergency contact invitations, and missed check-in events. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out of SMS, reply STOP to any SoloSafe SMS message. For help, reply HELP or contact [email protected].
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission, automation, third-party processing, or electronic storage is 100% secure, uninterrupted, or error-free. We cannot guarantee absolute security or uninterrupted service.
Children's Privacy
SoloSafe is intended for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover such information, we will delete it as required by law.
International Users
Data may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. By using SoloSafe, you consent to this processing and transfer where permitted by applicable law.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of your personal data. Contact [email protected] to exercise these rights. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
GDPR Notice for EU Users
If you are located in the European Union, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and request data portability. Data Retention
Location data may be retained for up to 90 days unless deletion is requested sooner or a longer retention period is required for security, dispute, legal, backup, or compliance reasons. Message logs may be retained for up to 30 days for delivery verification and troubleshooting. Account and contact data are generally retained until account deletion is requested, subject to legal, security, backup, and compliance requirements.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes may be provided by email, in-app notice, or website notice.
